Mens Gymnastics is a strength building sport for boys that enhances coordination and agility. It develops positive and confident body movements and challenges the mind. Men compete in 6 apparatus: Floor, Pommel, Rings, Vault, Parallel Bars and High Bars.
Boys are accepted into the competition squads from approximately 5-6 years old after showing talent in the General Gymnastic or Pre-gym squads (after an assessment by the Head Coach). Boys train up to 2 times a week on Thursdays and Fridays, and compete in the Australian Gymnastics Levels programs.
Attendance is expected at all training sessions. Makeup classes are not available and no refund will be issued for missed sessions.
Competitions
Competitions are held at the State Gymnastics Centre at Marion at least 3 times a year and there is also an opportunity to compete in country competitions. For competitions, they will be required to purchase a club leotard and shorts, jacket and bag.
Parental help is required at competitions usually as a door person, panel secretary, judge or music operator. Courses are offered annually to gain judging accreditation. All parents will be expected to help in some form during the year.
