GfA Gymnastics for All

    GfA Gymnastics for All

Our recreational programs are a fun and energetic gymnastics experience for girls and boys aged 4 years and over.  Children in this program will learn basic gym skills and most importantly have plenty of fun!

GfA is a sport for everybody.  You can develop amazing skills while getting strong and flexible in fun and challenging ways; it is a sport for life with something for all ages and all abilities.  The basic skills of landing, rolling and being upside-down can be developed and enhanced to suit whatever kind of movement you love best.

Our GfA programs run on Friday evenings and Saturdays with children grouped by age and ability.  GfA is the entry point for most gymnasts to Saints Gym Club with competitve programs being by invitation.

Pregym 4-5 years

Often the next step on a child's path to physical literacy following Kindergym.  In this 60 minute program, children are introduced to a structured gymnastics class and core concepts relating to body shapes, movement, rolling and landing from jumps.

Cartwheels Approximately 5-7 years

Participants may transition from PreGym or commence as a beginner to gymnastics.  During the 60 minute session, gymnasts paritipate in a structured learning environment that develops core technique and skills.  Coaches offer progression and regression skill options to esnure all gymnasts can train safely and take the challenge to try new skills as they are ready.

Pullovers Approximately 8+ years

Training for 90 minutes per session, Pullovers continue to build on the skills they have learnt in previous classes.  Children in this age group who have no previous experience are still welcome to join the class group and will be provided with an adjusted program suitable for their skill level.

Flipsters Approximately 10+ years

Our most advanced program in GfA and suitable for those gymansts who are ready to progress beyond Pullovers but still prefer a recreational commitment to their training.  Flipsters is a 90 minute training session.

GfA Challenge is open to our Cartwheel, Pullover and Flipster gymnasts who want to experience a competition-like environment.  Gymnasts participate in the GfA Challenge which runs twice each year with clubs across South Australia also participating.  During their regular training sessions, gymnasts will learn a routine for each of the apparatus they perform in, are assessed for skill competence and may be awarded a place ribbon.  Paricipants in the Challenge are required to purchase our Training Wear leotard, crop and/or shorts for the event.
