2027 Walkovers - GfA Challenge & WAG Program – Important Information for Families

Due to the ongoing popularity of our GfA Challenge and WAG programs, we have very limited places available for 2027. All placements will be offered following a gymnast assessment conducted by our coaching team.

Trial Date

Sunday 15 November 2026 Depending on numbers, gymnasts will attend a 90‑minute sessions scheduled between 9:00 am and 12:00 pm. You will receive an email in the week prior confirming your child’s allocated trial time.

Parent Information Session

An information session for parents will be held on the same day. Times will be advised prior to the trial. We strongly encourage a parent to attend, as detailed information about both programs will be explained and you will have the opportunity to ask questions.

WAG Program Expectations

WAG is a high‑commitment competition pathway. Families should carefully consider the increased expectations before enrolling.

Training & Attendance

  • WAG requires a disciplined approach and higher training hours.

  • Gymnasts are expected toattend all scheduled training sessions for their level.

  • Gymnasts must be available for all Gymnastics SA competitions throughout the year.

Costs

The WAG program includes additional expenses such as:

  • Competition entry fees

  • Increased training hours

  • Required uniform and competition kit

    • WAG leotard, scrunchie, jacket and backpack approx $450

GfA Challenge – An Alternative Option

For some families, the GfA Challenge stream may be more suitable. This program:

  • Runs alongside our recreational classes

  • Allows gymnasts to showcase skills in a more relaxed environment at "Challenges" these are held at GymSA with clubs from accross the state

  • Has lower time and cost commitments

  • Attedance at 2 challenges

Trial Outcomes

We aim to notify families of trial results before the beginning of December. However, some families do not confirm their ongoing enrolment until late January, which may result in additional places becoming available at that time.

Trial Fee

A small fee applies to cover coaching staff for the trial day.
